My name is Rebecca. I am in eighth grade at Percy Julian Middle School. I wanted to work on this site because I was interested in how kids are educated in other countries. We had already joined ThinkQuest Japan, and were paired with two girls named Miyu and Yuki. We discussed common interests, and Miyu and I both wished to learn about each others culture, and school was something that we both participated in, and something we wanted to learn about, so we split into two groups and added another student to each group from our school. I created many buttons for the site, and a couple of the flashes. I also made many of the pages and designed the general look of the site. I took almost all of the pictures and edited them.

私の名前はレベッカ。パーシー・ジュリアン・ミドル・スクールの８年生です。私がこの取り組みをしたかったのは、他の国の子供たちがどのように学習しているかに興味があったから。私たちは既にシンククエスト・ジャパンに参加して、美有や有希と一緒になっていました。私たちは共通の関心事を話し合ったの。そして、美有と私はそれぞれの文化、そして私たちがそれぞれ通っている学校、私たちが学びたいものについて活動していきたいと思いました。それで、私たちは２つのグループに分かれて、それぞれに私たちの学校からもう一人ずつ加わったわ。私はたくさんのボタンを作ったりフラッシュアニメーションを作ったりした。たくさんのページを作ったり、このホームページの全体的なデザインも担当しました。アメリカのほとんどの写真を撮って、編集したりもしました。

My name is Kristen and I am in seventh grade at Percy Julian Middle School. I wanted to do this site because I thought it would be cool to work with someone from Japan and learn about their culture. I also wanted people to know the differences in two cultures. I made some of the flashes and buttons on the site. I also made some of the pages (events, clubs, classes, etc).

私の名前はクリスティン。パーシー・ジュリアン・ミドル・スクールの７年生です。私がこのサイトを作りたかったのは、日本の友達と一緒に活動ができるなんて素晴らしいと思ったし、日本の文化についても学びたかったから。それに、２つの国の文化の違いをみんなに知らせたかったこともあるわ。私は、ページにあるフラッシュアニメーションやボタンを作りました。また、行事や、クラブ、学習のページも作りました。

清水美有です。アメリカの友達と一緒に活動し始めた頃は、英語がなかなか読めなかったり、不安なこともたくさんありました。でも、メールを通じて交流し、ホームページを作っていくうちに、次第に日本と違うことやおもしろいアメリカの生活や行事を知ることができ、とても楽しくなってきました。今、こんなにも素晴らしいホームページができあがって、とてもうれしく思っています。
